Havana Street Boys by Terry Berenson, brings back memories of similar streets where I walked hand in hand with my mother as a child.  I remember young boys playing baseball, a national passion... striving to become the upcoming baseball stars of the nation.

Often, among the noises made by traffic, I would hear the peanut vendor like a cantor, selling the hot paper cones filled with peanuts... or the man yelling, ¡Pan De Gloria!  Bread Of Glory! These delicious glazed rolls were well-named!
